There was a massive local everyday crew. Nowhere to sit, small tables. The oldy worldy atmosphere has gone. No history of the pub at the top of the stairs which should of stayed! Just the usual gastro pub now Sarah2024-09-02 Lovely place will be coming back all the time Duckbutcher2024-08-27 Stayed here with my better half the other week, and we couldn’t have picked a better time or place. The weather held out and we were treated to gorgeous views from the pub. The place itself is an ancient old building with a lot of history, ask the staff if you want the stories. In recent years the pub has been done up somewhat and extensions added to keep it up to date, but you’ll still get comical locals and regulars being colorful and rowdy if you’re there on a weekend evening. Food is a cut above your average countryside pub and in general the place seems to be punching above its weight. Well done. OUT & ABOUT
Things to do in the local area
The Golden Ball is located within equal distance of Lancaster, Morecambe and Heysham. We are also ideally located for anyone visiting the Isle of Man, as the ferry port is a short drive from the hotel. The Lake District is only 30 minutes from our door, or in the other direction we have Ingleton Falls, Settle and the famous steam railway.
